What is Vega Testing
Vega Testing:
What to expect in a Vega Testing appointment
Kim Barzilay offers an alternative way of identifying imbalances in the client’s body through Vega Testing. This is a non-invasive method to help clients realize how specific imbalances may be affecting their everyday health and vitality.
Kim’s services include a package for each client with the results of the Vega Test for them to take home, plus any suggestions she may have for them to create a better balance through foods, supplements and or herbs, exercise or lifestyle changes. Kim will also suggest if they need at least one or more visits for further consultations or follow ups to support the clients health suggestions. Also included free of charge, Kim will be available by email or text for any questions pertaining to their appointment as part of the package they receive.
Attention to excellent, courteous and confidential client service and follow up is a priority for her business, and whenever possible she will include other local practitioners, as she feels each client may benefit from, as a referral. Supporting your journey is her goal!
New clients appointments are usually 2 hours for testing and consultation. Follow ups can range from 15 minutes to 1 hour depending on the needs of the client.
VEGA TEST INFO
BACKGROUND
Vega testing is a non-invasive method of Electro-Dermal screening first developed over 50 years ago in Germany. Dr. Reinhold Voll, M.D. DDS developed this technology in the 1950’s and called it electro-acupuncture according to Voll (EAV). The need to simplify the testing method led doctors Schmidt and Schimmel to continue in Voll’s footsteps. Extensive medical research, combined with advancements in technology, led to the development of the modern day EAV, known as the Vega Test method.
The Vega Test machine electronically measures galvanic skin response. Bioelectric energy flows along particular pathways within the body, much like a circuit board, and links internal organs with more than 100 acupuncture points throughout the body. When blockage occurs along these pathways (meridians), bioelectric energy accumulates, eventually resulting in imbalances that can sometimes lead to illnesses. This method measures the body’s ability to conduct energy and is designed to indicate disruption in the flow of this energy along these pathways or meridians.
PURPOSE
The Vega Test accurately helps the practioner identify imbalances in their pre-clinical or early stages of development. The Vega Test is not intended as a replacement for standard methods of evaluation, but as a complimentary tool to help assess the imbalances that may sometimes cause of illness. This tool does not eliminate the necessity and effectiveness for physical exam, blood tests, x-rays, or other diagnostic means. The information obtained from the Vega Test is a piece of your overall health picture.
Electro-Dermal screening is not unique in its electrical measurements for assessment purposes. Conventional medical testing also uses electrical current for patient/client evaluation. Such assessment tools include the electrocardiograph (ECG) to measure heart function, and the electroencephalograph (EEG) to measure electrical impulses in the brain. Biofeedback devices also work on this galvanic skin response principle.
Presently there are approximately 10,000 Electro-Dermal screening devices being used throughout Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain and in North America.
Applications of the Vega Test include: food sensitivities, environmental sensitivities, organ imbalances, hormone and neurotransmitter imbalances, and vitamin/mineral status (too much or too little).
HOW THE TEST IS PERFORMED
The Vega Test method utilizes an instrument with two hand electrodes: One is a testing probe and the other a patient ground. A single point on the hand (or sometimes the foot) is used as the test point through which all measurements are repeatedly made. After proper calibration of the instrument is achieved for each individual client, assessment information can be obtained by the introduction of ampoules containing homeopathically diluted test preparations or other substances into the measurement circuit. The response of the client’s body to the test ampoule, as determined by the degree of relative change in the electro-magnetic conductance (skin resistance) of the test point, is detected and measured by the instrument’s voltage meter. The Vega Test procedure itself is free from side effects, except for the occasional mild soreness that may occur on the test point. Subsequently, people of all ages can be readily tested.
Studies have shown that this technique can achieve 85-90% sensitivity in what it was intended to evaluate. As a result of this method’s accuracy, ease of use, and unique information obtained, Vega Testing is very popular in Europe and in the offices of Naturopathic and complimentary health practitioner’s here in North America.
